General instructions for use
Before starting the treatment, ensure that all parts are firmly
connected to each other.
Perform the treatment until the aerosol is used up (indicated by
a change in the sound of the nebuliser).
Several drops of medication will remain in the nebuliser
after the treatment has ended.
To ensure that the treatment has the desired effect, please fol-
low the instructions below:
– In order for the aerosol to reach all regions of the paranasal
sinuses, the nose must be clear. If blocked, rinse it before-
hand using for example the PARI MONTESOL nasal
douche. If necessary, use a product designed to reduce
swelling.
– The aerosol that is generated during nebulisation should
only be delivered to the paranasal sinuses. To ensure this is
the case, the soft palate
2
must be closed.
If the soft palate is not closed properly, some of the aer-
osol will end up in your throat. One sign of this is that the
nostrils do not vibrate. In this case, it is possible that not
enough saline solution or medication is reaching the
paranasal sinuses.
– The aerosol is automatically delivered to the paranasal si-
nuses. Therefore, you should hold your breath during the
treatment. In order to breathe, pause the treatment briefly.
Switch the compressor off during breathing pauses.
2) The soft palate is the extension of the hard palate. It separates part of the oral
cavity from the throat and is responsible for closing the airway off from the
oesophagus.
