Installation
6
• Indoor use only
• Temperature range 0 - 60°C (32 - 140°F)
• Do not use in direct sunlight
• Install unit in an area free of electromagnetic interference. Isolate power to unit from circuits containing
devices that draw large current or create line noise.
• Keep unit free from water splashes and corrosive gases
• The location should have ease of access for maintenance
Requirements for Installation Site of the Flow Detector:
Mounting of Flow Detector
Use the following guidelines for installation of the flow detector:
•
Flow detector can be installed at any angle - vertical, horizontal or inclined pipe. Do not allow bubbles
to become trapped inside of the flow detector. If deposits or sediments are expected, flow detector
must be mounted for ease of draining and cleaning.
•
Install the flow detector with inlet lower than the outlet.
•
The arrow on side of Flow detector shows flow direction. Make sure the arrow matches the direction of
flow.
•
Flow detector should be mounted where pressure in the pipe is above the atmospheric pressure
(positive
pressure).
•
A flow control valve, if required, should be installed downstream of flow detector to prevent formation of
bubbles in the liquid. An upstream valve may form bubbles which could reduce the intensity of the
ultrasonic signal and interfere with proper measurement.
•
A bypass pipe run (including bypass valve and shutoff valves) is recommended for easy zero adjustment
and
maintenance.
•
Use mounting straps on detector body to secure device. Avoid mechanical stress on the inlet and outlet
pipes.
•
Please refer to the fitting manufacturers’ working instructions for the connection of the tube joints.
