General safety instructions for
abrasive cutting, grinding and
working with wire brushes
1.
This power tool is intended for use as a
grinder, wire brush and abrasive cutting
machine. Follow all safety instructions,
instructions for use, illustrations and data
included with the device.
Failure to heed the
following instructions can result in electric shock, fire
and / or serious injury.
2.
This power tool is not suited for
sandpaper grinding and polishing.
Using
the power tool for any purpose other than its
intended use can cause hazards and injury.
3.
Do not use any accessory parts
not especially intended for and
recommended for use with this power
tool by the manufacturer.
Just because some
parts may be attached to the power tool does not
guarantee safe use.
4.
The maximum speed of attachments
must be at least as high as the maximum
speed rating indicated on the power tool.
Accessory parts that operate at speeds in excess of
their rating may break and become ballistic.
5.
The exterior diameter and thickness
of attachments must comply with the
specifications of your power tool.
Incorrectly sized attachments may not be
adequately shielded or controlled.
6.
Attachments with threaded inserts must
fit perfectly on the grinding spindle
thread. The hole diameter of attachments
fixed by means of a flange must fit
the mounting diameter of the flange.
Attachments that do not fit the power tool exactly,
rotate unevenly or vibrate heavily may result in a
loss of control.
7.
Do not use any damaged attachments.
Before use, always check your
attachments for damages. Check buffing
disks for cracks and tears, grinding
disks for tears or high wear, steel
brushes for loose or broken wires. If
you drop a power tool or attachment,
check it for damages or use undamaged
attachments. After checking and inserting
an attachment, keep yourself and
persons in your vicinity away from the
rotating attachment and let the device
run for 1
minute at top speed.
Damaged
attachments usually break during this test period.
8.
Wear personal protective clothing.
Depending on the application, wear
full face protection, eye protection or
protective goggles. Where appropriate,
wear a dusk mask, hearing protection,
protective gloves or a protective apron
to shield your body from grinding and
material particles.
You should protect your eyes
from the flying particles that may occur in various
applications. A dust or respiratory mask must filter
out the dust caused by the application. Extended
exposure to loud noises may lead to hearing loss.
