line cutter blade is damaged, be

Wear protective gloves in order to
avoid cutting yourself.
1. Unscrew the line cutter (18) from the ex
-
tension (19) of the protective cover (21).
2. Clamp the line cutter (18) in a vice and
sharpen the knife with a flat file. File care
-
fully, and always in one direction only.
3. Screw the line cutter (18) back onto the
extension (19) of the protective cover (21).
Cleaning/replacing the
air filter
Never run the device without an air
filter. Dust and dirt may otherwise
enter the engine and cause damage to the
machine. Keep the air filter clean.
1. Loosen the screw (74) on the air filter
cover (75) and remove the air filter cov
-
er (75) from the air filter housing (77).
2. Remove the air filter (76) from the air
filter housing (77).
3. Clean the air filter (76) with soap and
water and allow it to air dry.
Never
use petrol for cleaning!
Replace the air filter (76) if it is
worn, damaged or dirty (see “Spare
parts/Accessories”).
The grid acts as a spacer and has to
be inserted in the air filter housing
(77) first, if it falls out when removing the
air filter (76).
4. Insert the two lugs on the air filter cover
(75) into the tabs on the air filter hous
-
ing (77).
5. Fold the air filter cover (75) over the air
filter housing (77).
6. Fix the air filter cover (75) with the
screw (74).
Replacing the fuel filter
Never operate the device without a
fuel filter. Change the fuel filter reg
-
ularly.
1. Unscrew the tank cap (55).
2. Empty the fuel tank (54) into a suitable
vessel.
3. Pull the fuel filter (78) out of the tank us
-
ing a hook and remove it by loosening
the small clamp.
4. Replace the fuel filter (78) and put the
attached suction head back into the tank.
5. Close the fuel tank (54)again with the
tank cap (55).

Lubricating the gears
The gear units of the attachments require lu-
brication after around 10 hours of operation.
Trimmer/brush cutter
1. Loosen the screw (79) on the gears with
the mounting key (26).
2. Insert up to 5 g of commercially-avail-
able lubricating grease into the lubrica-
tion opening on the gearbox housing.
3.
Close the gears again using the screw (79).
Adjusting the carburettor
The carburettor has been preconfigured
for ideal performance at the factory. If any
