- Only use clean, fresh petrol.
- Do not store petrol for longer
than one month, as its quality
will deteriorate.
1. Unscrew the tank cap (
7).
2. Add petrol up to the lower edge of the
filler neck (8). Do not fill the petrol tank
fully, so that the petrol has space to
expand.
3. Wipe petrol residues off the tank cap.
4. Close the tank cap.
Operation
Some level of noise emission with
this equipment is unavoidable. Post-
pone noisy work until designated
periods when it is permitted. Take
rest periods when needed and limit
working time to the minimum neces-
sary. For your personal protection
and the protection of people work-
ing nearby a suitable form of hear-
ing protection must be worn.
Starting/stopping
the engine
Warning! Petrol is flamma

ble. Start the engine at least
3 m away from where you
refuelled. Possible fire haz
-
ard.
Place the device on a solid, even
base, avoiding high grass if possi-
ble. Make sure that the cutting tool
does not touch either other objects
or the ground.
For your safety: Stand behind the
device when starting it.
Regularly check the petrol and oil
levels (see “Checking the oil level”)
and top up promptly.
Cold start:
1.
Press the petrol pump (11)

(primer) 3x.
2. Pull the safety bracket (2) to
-
wards the handlebar (1) and hold it.
3. Pull the starter handle (22).
4. If the motor starts, slowly release the
starter handle into the starter cable
guide (21).
For a
warm start
it is not neces-
sary to press the primer (11).
If the primer is pressed too often, too
much petrol will enter the carburettor
and the motor is difficult to start.
Stopping the engine:
• Release the safety bracket (2). The
engine switches off and the blade is
braked.
Blade stopping device:
Regularly examine the blade stopping
device:
• Release the safety bracket (2). The
engine switches off and the blade is
braked.
The blade must stop within 7 seconds.
Mowing
1. Start the engine (see “Starting/stop

ping the engine”).
2. Hold the handlebar (1) and the safety
bracket (2) with both hands while mow
-
ing.
