Facilities for verification 

7.5.1  Megger F-4101, accuracy class 2.5. 
7.5.2  Universal  semi-automatic  test  system  UPPU-1M.  Voltage 

and current tuning range is 750 V; 10 A, error 0,03%. 

7.5.3  Voltmeter testing device V1-13. Range is up to 1000 V, er-

ror 32 mV. 

7.5.4  Phase  shift  meter  F2-34.  Phase  shift  measurement  range 

is 0 – 360 deg, error 0.01 deg. 

7.5.5  Note:  Other  types  of  measurement  facilities  are  permissi-

ble,  providing  stipulated  accuracy  of  measurement  and  verified  (cali-
brated) in stipulated order. 

7.6 

Verification conduction 

7.6.1  External examination 

7.6.1.1 

During  external  examination  it  is  necessary  to  make  sure 

that marking conforms to specifications requirements and there are no visible 
damages of case, power supply cord and plug, input commutation contacts, 
connector  assembly and  cable.  To  check  joint  of jaws  of  clamps  and make 
sure that the surfaces are clean. 

7.6.2  Determination of insulation resistance 

7.6.2.1 

Insulation resistance measurement is made with megger at 

a fixed voltage of 1000 V. 

7.6.2.2 

Measurement  is  made  between  input  contacts,  joint  to-

gether and contacts of power supply plug, joint together. 

7.6.2.3 

Insulation resistance is to be no less than 2.6 MW. 

7.6.3  Try-out 

7.6.3.1 

Connect the device to three-phase alternating current sys-

tem, three phase conductors are to be connected with red terminals A, B, C 
of the device. 

7.6.3.2 

Switch on the device. When shifting the connection of con-

ductors on terminals A, B, C  make sure that the display shows “Direct phase 
alternation” and “Reverse phase alternation”. 

7.6.4  Verification  of  effective range  and   measurement  error of 

direct voltage measurement 

7.6.4.1 

Connect the device to V1-13 system. 

7.6.4.2 

Switch on the device on and make sure that zero value of 

voltage is shown on indicator. 

7.6.4.3 

Make measurements in the following range points: 10, 100, 

200, 300, 460 V.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS 

3.1 

The  device  belongs  to  class  II  according  to GOST  26104  re-

garding electric injury protection. 

3.2 

Protection level of the device case according to GOST 14254-

80 (IEC 529) is IP54. 

3.3 

Only persons who had got safety instructions and studied the 

present Manual are permitted to work with the device. 

3.4 

It is prohibited to switch input circuits of the device with voltage 

in the researched circuits. 

3.5 

Switching on the researching circuits one should make all the 

operations with one hand. 

3.6 

Defining  the  phase  alternation  order  the  device  automatically 

connects  A,  B,  C  inputs  as  a  “star”,  the  resistance  between  any  two  “star” 
rays  being  2  MW.  Unused  terminals  (“cold”    in  phases  A  and  C)  are  com-
pletely disconnected. 

DESCRIPTION  OF  THE  DEVICE  AND  PRINCIPLES 

OF ITS OPERATION 

4.1 

Purpose 

4.1.1  Voltamperephasometer  “Parma  ВАФ-A”,  TU4221-006-

31920409-2004 is a completely automatic universal device. 

4.1.2  The  device  is intended  for measurement  of direct  voltage, 

effective value of voltage and current of sinusoidal alternating current with 
simultaneous calculation of active and reactive power in a circuit, meas-
urement  of  frequency,  voltage-voltage,  current-current  (if  the  device  is 
completed with two clamp), current-voltage phase shift and determination 
of phase alternation order in three-phase systems with midpoint or with-
out it. 

4.1.3  The  device  may  be  used  for  complex  protection  tests  of 

generators, transformers and lines, in current and voltage transformer cir-
cuits,  as  well  as  for  adjustment  of  phase-sensitive  relay  protection 
schemes and so on. 

4.1.4  The device is designed in accordance with requirements of 

GOST 22261 and current GSI (State System for Ensuring for Uniformity 
of Measurments) standards. 

4.1.5  The device OKP code is 42 21 99.
