On the command bar, click File > Save As..., and specify the location and file
name of the file to hold the data.
Considerations for MiniLaz Replacement Use
•
The Lasair II particle counter 6-channel data is merged into 5 channels for
MiniLaz data format. The Lasair II particle counter 510 model has an anomaly
in this merge. The MiniLaz has a 3.0
μ
m channel, which is replaced with the
Lasair II particle counter 2.0
μ
m channel. All other standard Lasair II models
have correct reporting of data on all MiniLaz sizes. The new Lasair II 310A and
510A models emulate MiniLaz 325 and 525 instruments.
•
Only Lasair II Temp/rh probe analog data is reported in the MiniLaz format. The
four user analog channels are not reported.
•
The Lasair II particle counter can save 3000 samples, while the MiniLaz can only
save 500. If a long-term network outage occurs while the particle counter is still
running, this may bog down the system for an unacceptable time period.
•
The sample delay setting in Facility Net is only approximate when used with a
Lasair II particle counter. The native Lasair II particle counter delay counts from
the end of one sample to the start of the next, while the MiniLaz counts from the
start of one sample to the start of the next.
•
An external RS-232/RS-485 converter with automatic send data control is
required on the Lasair II particle counter for use in RS-485 environments. An
older converter with CTS control will not function properly.
•
When using remote mode and location names, some care must be exercised. The
MiniLaz only supports 7 character location names, while the Lasair II particle
counter supports 16 character names. All characters in a location name are
transmitted in a MiniLaz packet. Facility Net will only read 8-character names.
Be careful not to use names longer than 8 characters.
•
The Lasair II particle counter’s un-erase feature can be used if an error occurs
downloading data in remote mode. (The un-erase feature is disabled as soon as
additional data is taken, or the location names are deleted.)
•
When emulating the MiniLaz, set the baud rate to 9600 for communications with
Facility Net.
The PMS Multi-Drop mode enables Lasair II particle counter to be used as a drop-
in replacement for MiniLaz. See appendix A for setup details. See Appendix E for
the complete PMS Multi-Drop command set.
