Cleaning Method
The Lasair II particle counter case is made of Kydex, a rugged plastic in the PVC
family. The polyester display screen is sealed around its edges and all case openings
are sealed with gaskets. Both Kydex and polyester are resistant to most cleaning
chemicals. Never wipe the display screen with anything that is hard or sharp.
Although the Lasair II particle counter is resistant to liquids, it is not liquid proof.
Do not submerge the particle counter in any liquid or apply large amounts of liquid.
Always wipe away free standing liquid and wet wipe the particle counter after
applying a cleaner. Never put liquids into the air intake port.
To clean the Lasair II particle counter:
1
Turn the particle counter off, unplug the power cord, and remove the battery.
2
Disconnect all other cables.
3
Remove the sample horn and place the shipping cap on the air intake tube.
OR
If you prefer to clean the particle counter and the isokinetic probe with the probe
attached to the particle counter, place the shipping cap on the intake of the isokinetic
probe.
WARNING
Always wear eye protection when working with cleaning chemicals.
