Lasair II Particle Counter Operations Manual
Chapter 5: Setup
LASAIR II
The default communications mode. Select this button to use the
Lasair II particle counter as a stand-alone instrument. For more information, see
Appendix G, "Native Serial (RS-2332) Communications".
PMS Multi-Drop
Selecting this button activates the mode used to enable the
particle counter to emulate older MiniLaz drivers in a Facility Net/RS-485 system
with multiple, individually-addressable instruments. All communications is polled
with a sensor address, and the host program must take care of querying the unit for
data.For more information, see Appendix F, "PMS Multi-Drop Protocol (MiniLaz
Emulation)".
TouchRAM Read
Select this button to read TouchRAM buttons only. For more
information, see Appendix M, "Touch RAM".
TouchRAM Read/Write
Select this button to read or write TouchRAM buttons.
For more information, see Appendix M, "Touch RAM".
Setup
The instrument service mode, not intended for customer use.
SIO Baud
The serial I/O port baud rate is selectable from 1200–38400.
PMS Addr.
A user-entered numeric field with values of 0–99. This value is used
by the PMS Multi-Drop communications mode to identify each Lasair II particle
counter.
NOTE:
When using the TouchRAM feature, the address is stored in
the button. Reading a button will over-write this parameter with the
value in the button.
