Chapter 6
Operation
Once you have setup the unit for sampling, operations is a simple matter.
This chapter includes the following sections:

Collecting Sample Data
To collect sample data:

Place the Lasair II particle counter unit in the area where you will conduct
sampling.

Plug in the unit. If the particle counter is already plugged in, but the display is
blank, press the ON/OFF button in the lower right of the control panel. You will
hear a beep during the startup process.

When the display is visible, press the green Start button on the control panel.
You will hear the pump begin to circulate air through the unit. On the display
screen, you will see the unit go through the Initial Delay countdown and then
begin sampling.
When sampling is completed, the pump turns itself off. Sample results are
displayed on the display screens. If you have set sampling to run continuously, the
unit will continue to run until you press the Stop softkey or turn the unit off.
To turn sampling OFF:
Press the red Stop button on the left side of the control panel.
When you stop sampling before the sampling sequence reaches completion, the
sample data will be marked as
invalid
.
