Access Saved Images
Saved images may also be accessed using your computer in the
penveu/penveuSavedImages
folder. The
penveu
system
appears as an external device to your computer (or other mobile
device) named
penveu
. To access those files, make sure the
veu
is connected to a power
outlet and connected to your computer with the USB cable. Open “My Computer” or the
equivalent application to access the
penveu/penveuSavedImages
folder to select a file.
The images are saved as 24-bit bitmap (.BMP) files with 96 dpi resolution. You can edit the
images with common graphic file editors.
NOTE: Choosing the appropriate FILE ACCESS Setting
See
for detailed information.
The
penveu
system
has an 8GB or 32GB storage embedded in the
veu
. It is where the saved
images are stored, and where the user can save their own user files.
To access your saved images from the computer via the USB cable, the
storage
needs to be
accessible to the computer. Use the FILE ACCESS settings to make sure that the computer has
access to the embedded storage.
In the
menu
User Interface,
go to SETTINGS / FILE ACCESS and choose either:
BOTH
Commonly used with Windows machines. The storage will be accessible both the
veu
and
the computer connected through the USB port.
PC
Commonly used with Linux machines. The storage will be accessible to the computer
only. Therefore, the
veu
will not be able to access the storage to SAVE additional
captured images.
Why should I ever select anything other than BOTH?
According to the USB standard, the embedded storage cannot be available to both the
veu
and
the computer at the same time, and thus it has to be switched (automatically or manually)
between them.
When the
veu
requires access to the embedded storage to SAVE captured images, it
automatically attempts to virtually disconnect the storage from the computer, save the
captured image, and then reconnect the storage to the computer.
In Windows machines and in most cases, setting FILE ACCESS to BOTH will work fine; the
computer and the
veu
are able to interchangeably access the storage with ease.
In Linux machines, some Mac OS machines, and for slower computers, it is recommended to
manually switch the storage access between the
veu
and the computer (Set FILE ACCESS to VEU
when using the
pen
, and set to PC when accessing the storage from the computer via USB). The
automatic switching procedure is often non compatible and may fail to execute.
