Instructions for Installation and Use - Technical Cabinet with Main Unit and Nodes – Preliminary Draft –
Installing the Technical Cabinet and turning the Main Unit on
1. Find an even surface preferably elevated at least 1 m from ground and in the close
vicinity of a mains outlet (one phase, 100V- 240 V / 45Hz - 65Hz with protective earth).
2. With the Technical Cabinet flat down resting on its four plastic stands, open it and take
out the antennas from the accessories bag.
3. Unscrew the protective blue caps on the antenna mounts by turning them
counterclockwise and install the antennas by screwing them into place by turning the
plastic lock nut clockwise
[A]
.
4. Connect the mains cable socket plug
[B]
to the mains power socket.
5. Check so that mains indicator light
[C]
is lit.
6. Turn on the Main Unit by pressing the rocker switch
[D]
to the
“1”
position.
The Main Unit now starts up. This normally takes around 20 seconds but can take up
to several minutes depending on the mobile phone network availability in the area. The
blinking green indicator LED lamp
[E]
indicates that a connection is being established.
7. Detach a Node that later will be installed by slightly twisting it in the direction of the
Main Unit and then gently pulling it outwards. When the node is detached from the
charging bay the USB charging cable can be removed. See Illustrations page 1 for a
more detailed description on node charging. Turn on the node and check so that it
connects to the Main Unit.
8. Close and lock the Technical Cabinet. Never leave it open during normal operation.
Place it in its upright position with the antennas pointing towards the sky to ensure
optimal radio range.

Read and follow the safety instructions concerning the placement of the Technical
Cabinet and the particularly the mains cable found in chapter 2, Safety Instructions.
Do not touch exposed signal connectors directly as it can damage them due to
electrostatic discharge (ESD) from the human body.
Do not use excessive force when installing the antennas or detaching the nodes or
USB charging cable.
