Warning
Wear protective goggles when drilling into concrete.
The electro-mechanical barriers GES 2-4 are fastened with fastening anchors.
You need to drill 12-mm
holes into the concrete. Blow air into the drilled hole in order to
remove any dust from drilling. Insert the anchors using a hammer. Place the barrier stand on
the foundation. Then temporarily fasten it with the nuts and washers provided.
The electro-mechanical boom barriers GES 5-8m and GEHS are fastened by means of
bonded anchors and capsules. For the proper use of the bonded anchors, please refer to the
installation manual provided. The diameter of the bore holes is
18 mm.
5.5.2 Aligning
Use a water level to check that the stand of the electro-mechanical barrier is properly
vertical; if needed, adjust its alignment by inserting pieces of sheet metal close to the drilled
holes. You should also check the correct position of the barrier when closed. If applicable, a
fixed support post, if any, has to be taken into consideration when checking the alignment.
Because the fastening holes in the base plate have a diameter of 40 mm
, the horizontal
orientation of the barrier boom can be adjusted by slightly moving the base plate. To carry
out this work, the barrier boom needs to be installed in the boom mount and fastened with
the installation materials provided.
Warning
If the barrier boom is fitted with a safety pressure strip, the electrical wiring for
this safety pressure strip, which is located inside the boom, has to be connected
to the appropriate cable of the barrier-boom mount before the barrier boom itself
is fastened.
