7.3 Basic Functions
Our boom barrier systems are suitable for vehicle entrances and exits. Of course, it is also
possible to use separate boom barriers for entrance and exit driveways. Furthermore, wide
driveways can be protected by using two boom barriers facing each other. For such dual-
barrier systems and on boom barriers with one-sided barrier-boom mounts (i.e. GES 2
– 4),
the mounts are located on opposing sides of the barrier housing.
In all cases, the operation of the barriers is identical.
7.4 Safety
Our barrier systems conform to the standards. A higher degree of safety can be achieved
with the optional installation of induction loops, photoelectric barriers, or safety pressure
strips. Upon request, the barrier boom can be fitted with an angle section so as to discourage
anyone from sitting on the boom.
Note
By instructing a person in its use and making reference to this Operating Manual,
you authorise that person to operate the boom barrier.
7.5 Operation of Hand-operated Boom Barriers
The locking bolt is securely fastened by means of a chain either to the barrier stand or to the
resting fork of the fixed support post. Remove the bolt to open or close the barrier manually.
A gas-filled damper in the barrier stand helps with and controls the movement of the barrier
boom.
If the boom is in its final position, replace the bolt to secure it.
The locking bolt can be secured with a padlock.
