The RamanMicro 300
The RamanMicro 300 Raman microscope is used in conjunction with either the RamanStation
400F Raman spectrometer, or the RamanFlex 400 Series Raman spectrometers.
When used with the RamanStation 400F, use the sample compartment in the RamanStation
to measure your macroscopic samples, and to measure samples on the microscope use the
RamanMicro 300. You can also attach an optional fiber optic probe to the RamanStation to
further extend the range of sample types that you can analyze.
Figure 6 The RamanMicro 300 microscope
The microscope (Figure 6) is composed of a frame, illumination module, Raman module and
alignment camera module. This is connected to the spectrometer module in the
RamanStation or RamanFlex by two fiber optic cables. The spectrometer module contains the
laser, spectrograph and CCD detector. The laser supplies light through an objective lens onto
the sample. The scattered light from the sample is collected with the same objective lens and
transmitted back to the spectrometer. A schematic of the system configuration is provided in
Figure 7.
