Set Line Service

Used with a

serial interface, if your application supports
RTS
(Request To
Send), select this option. Otherwise, select
Auto

duplex
Specify whether the line is
Full Duplex
(communication both ways at the same time) or
Half Duplex
(communication in one direction at a time).
echo-suppression
This parameter applies only to
EIA-485
Half Duplex
mode. All characters will be
echoed to the user and transmitted across the serial ports. Some EIA-485 applications
require local echo to be enabled in order to monitor the loopback data to determine that
line contention has occurred. If your application cannot handle loopback data, echo
suppression should be
On
. The default is echo suppression

speed
Specifies the baud rate of the line; keep in mind that speed is affected by the length of
the cable. You can also specify a custom baud rate; valid values are 50-230400.

Options
bidir
Allows a bidirectional connection on a port.
<config_host>
The name of the target host.
<server_port>
The Device Server port number.
<host_port>
The port number the target host is listening on for incoming connections.
