8. MAINTENANCE
Exchange of permasoft with PT-PS1000FD / 5000FD / 18000 / 18000Alu/ 28000E
1. Close the ball valves on both sides
2. Confirm alarm by pressing OK (solenoid valve opens for flushing of permasoft)
3. relax permasoft via the bleed valve
4. unscrew permasoft in the clockwise direction (in case of PT-PS18000 / 18000Alu /
28000E: unscrew flexible hoses on the permasoft, observing the flow direction)
5. Connect new permasoft
6. Press OK for > 3 secs. (an acoustic signal confirms the change of permasoft and the
36-month counter is reset)
7. Open the ball valve on the inlet side and bleed via the bleed valve
8. Close the bleed valve and open the ball valve on the outlet side
9. TECHNICAL NOTES
Acoustic signals (PT-FCS /PT-FCSD only)
The piezo buzzer sounds for 2 secs several times at intervals of 20 secs in the case of the
following events:
•
permasoft exchange necessary (residual capacity 0% / 0 l)
•
conductance of the refilling water > 40 µS/cm
•
more than 36 months have elapsed since the last permasoft exchange
•
Leakage warning is active
All acoustic signals can be deactivated for 12 hours if ESC is pressed for 3 secs, or perma-
nently until the next power interruption (removal of the battery or unplugging the mains
plug) if > is pressed for 3 secs.
Potential-free signal outputs open collector 3 V / 0.1 A in case of PT-DA / DB or 24 V / 0.1 A
in case of PT-FCS / FCSD / DBP
The relay output (R) is active in the case of the following actions:
•
permasoft exchange necessary
•
leakage alarm
•
conductance of refilling water > 40 µS/cm (parallel to red LED)
A 3 V pulse per litre of refilling water can be picked up at the pulse output (S).
Conductance traffic light (red, yellow, green)
With the help of three LEDs, the quality of the refilling water can be easily estimated for a
coarse overview. The LEDs display the conductance of the treated water as follows:
•
Red > 40 µS/cm
•
Yellow > 20 µS/cm
•
Green < 20 µS/cm
Display and keys
All relevant data and parameters are visible simultaneously on the display.
Using the arrow keys, the values of the setting parameters are increased (right arrow key)
or decreased (left arrow key). If a button is pressed for longer than 1 sec., the value changes
with increasing speed.
OK: Short press (< 0.1 s):
confirms the value and jump to the next parameter.
Press and hold (3 s):
confirms manual permasoft exchange.
ESC: Short press (< 0.1 s):
deletes the newly set value and jump back to the display
mode.
Press and hold (3 s):
deactivates the acoustic alarm for 12 hours.
<:
Press and hold (3 s):
manually open the solenoid valve for 20 minutes, or 75
minutes in the case of the PT-FCS
>:
Press and hold (3 s):
deactivate all acoustic signals in the case of the PT-FCS /
PT-FCSD until the next power interruption
(removal of battery or unplugging the mains plug)
Battery state indicator
If the battery capacity is 100%, the battery symbol displays 5 vertical bars. Each bar
corresponds to a capacity of approx. 20 %. If a battery replacement is necessary
(capacity < 10 %), all bars in the display flash.
Data storage in case of a power failure
In the event of a power failure, all relevant data such as fill quantity, residual capacity, per-
masoft version, raw water conductance, weekly permissible refilling quantity and refilling
interval remain stored in the device.
Settings
The settings can be changed by pressing ESC for > 3 secs.
The numerical value of the parameter to be set pulsates. If an acoustic alarm is active, it must
first be deactivated by briefly pressing ESC.
Raw water conductance
Setting range 100 – 1500 µS/cm in steps of 10 µS/cm; factory setting: 500 µS/cm.
Selection of permasoft
The following permasoft sizes with a capacity in litres x °TDS can be selected:
•
1000
• 5000 (factory setting)
•
18000
•
28000
The theoretical quantity of deionised filling water in litres is calculated from the entered con-
ductance of the raw water and the capacity of permasoft and shown on the display.
During refilling with deionised water, the residual capacity is constantly updated and dis-
played both numerically and graphically (in 10 % steps in the case of PT-DA and PT-DB, in 25
% steps in the case of PT-FCS and PT-FCSD). In the case of the PT-FCS / PT-FCSD, the alarm is
activated at a residual capacity of 0 litres and both the numerical display and the bar graph
pulsate.
