The current understanding in modern occupational health and safety is that people in nursing professions
experience significant work-related physical strain. Back injuries are common. There are many situations in which a
patient has to be transferred from a bed, a wheeled stretcher, ambulance stretcher, an X-Ray table or a wheelchair
to a different stretcher or seat. The strain on the user and the patient / care-dependent can be reduced significantly
through the use of sliding mats.
The use of transfer aids should be conditional upon the user having learned to use the equipment properly. The
user has to decide for themselves what equipment is suitable to the patient's situation and the intended sequence
of movements.
The Support Belt is part of a product range with a wide range of possible applications. This product is used in
particular when raising and/or transferring patients in home care and other health care facilities as well as hospitals.
The product may only be used for the specified purpose and under the specified conditions.
