conditions other than those described in the section on
„Designated use“ and its subsections.
Surface treatments that may damage the material (e.g. hot
galvanising, electro-galvanising etc.), heat treatments, welding,
drilling etc. are not permitted.
The pewag levo clamp LC is suitable for use in normal
atmospheric conditions and for a temperature range from -20 °C
and +60 °C (-4 °F to +140 °F). The product must not be used in
conditions other than those specified here.
The load capacity specification is based on the assumption that
no particularly hazardous conditions apply. Such conditions
include offshore use, the lifting of persons and the lifting
of potentially hazardous substances such as liquid metals,
corrosive substances or nuclear material. In such cases, please
contact pewag to determine the permissibility of the application
and the degree of danger.
4.7 Foreseeable misuse
• Use that runs counter to the instructions given in this manual,
in particularly to the safety instructions listed under section
3 (incl. subsections) and the designated use listed under
section 4 (incl. subsections).
• Use by improperly trained personnel.
• Use by personnel who is unable to fully comprehend the
language of this operating manual.
• Overloading.
• Underloading.
• Continued use despite visible damage or modifications of the
device.
• Opening the pewag levo clamp LC when the steel plate is on
one side already on the ground.
• Transverse or flexural loading of the cam and the jaw.
4.8 Warnings and protective
measures to be taken by the user
Always read the operating manual
Read the operating manual prior to using the
pewag levo clamp LC or its accessories.
Warning against hand injuries
There is a risk of hands being crushed within the
jaws of the pewag levo clamp LC.
Always wear protective gloves when using the
pewag levo clamp LC.
5. First use and operation
We recommend keeping the original packaging of the
pewag levo clamp LC throughout its entire lifespan in case
of returns!
5.1 Battery installation
Prior to using the pewag levo clamp LC for the first time, please
remove the protective foil from the battery contacts.
Make sure that the battery is fully charged before using the
product for the first time.
Important:
•
Make sure that when you insert and/or remove the
battery, that the battery is always switched off.
•
Wait until the pewag levo clamp has started correctly
before using it (see chapter 5.2).
Removing the battery:
To remove the battery from the casing
of the pewag levo clamp LC, unlock it
by turning the fold-down handle anti-
clockwise by 90°, from the position
“Locked” (fig. 3) to “Unlocked” (fig. 2).
Make sure that the battery is
switched-off before removing it.
Then carefully pull out the battery.
Inserting the battery:
Ensure that the battery compartment is
free from foreign matter and dirt and that
the battery and the battery compartment
are dry. If required, clean the battery
compartment with a dry cloth.
Make sure that the battery is
switched-off when inserting it.
Next, carefully push the battery into the
compartment as far as it will go. Turn
the fold-down handle clockwise by 90°
to the„Locked“ position.
Important:
• Never try to insert or remove the
battery when the fold-down handle is set to the „Locked“
position! This may damage the locking mechanism.
• Do not use tools or other devices to insert or remove the
battery or to turn the fold-down handle.
• NEVER try to open or repair the battery unit or to replace
the battery cells!
