Disassemble and clean the intake strainer
1. Unscrew the interior hexagon socket screws.
2. Remove the vacuum flange.
3. Remove the intake strainer from the intake duct.
4. Clean the intake strainer using compressed air.
5. Examine the intake strainer for wear.
Mounting the intake strainer
1. Insert the intake strainer into the intake duct.
2. Fit the vacuum flange.
3. Screw in the interior hexagon socket screws.
7.6 Cleaning the gas ballast filter
The gas ballast filter is soiled if the vacuum pump takes in ambient air containing dust during gas ballast
operation. As the soiling increases, the throughput of the gas ballast filter decreases. The risk of con-
densation and corrosion in the vacuum pump increases.
