Principles of use

The cushion is made of high-density viscoelastic foam and covered by a micro-ventilated, mite-resistant and

CRIB 5 fire-resistant lined polyurethane Pharmatex cover. The non-slip bottom fabric ensures that the cushion

is securely maintained on the wheelchair’s seat.
The cover allows the patient to not be in direct contact with the foam for hygiene reasons and to avoid any risk

of heat development.
This viscoelastic foam cushion must be used in accordance with the recommendations of a qualified healthcare

professional. The level of risk for pressure sore development according to the BRADEN or NORTON scale, the weight of

the user and the intended use by caregivers must be taken into consideration when selecting a suitable support.

Installation tips

This cushion is suitable for all kinds of wheelchair whose seat sling is in a good overall condition and with no sag

or deformation. The size of the cushion must be compatible with the seat to ensure a proper positioning on the

wheelchair. Ensure that the top/bottom orientation of the cushion is respected. The non-slip coating must be in

direct contact with the fabric or the seat on which the cushion is placed. Place the handle at the front of the cushion

Precautions for use

Only use the cover, replacement cover supplied with the cushion or protection recommended by the manufacturer

to preserve the pressure sore prevention characteristics of the cushion. Do not fold the cushion during transfer operations

in order to prevent any damage of the viscoelastic foam.

For user comfort, use rather cotton clothing or linens. Do not use synthetic fabric and clothing: because of frictions

they can cause heats and a pelvis slip that can generate shearing on cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues.

In case of incontinence, clean the cover as required. During washing operations, fit the replacement cover on the

cushion to prevent all direct contact with the cushion’s surface.
