Put a filling, e.g. ham and cheese, between two thin slices of bread.

Lift the bread baskets out of the appliance by the handles.

Squeeze the handle of the bread basket (1) and put a sandwich or one slice of bread in each
basket (2) (Fig. 7).
Note: Make sure the sandwiches or slices of bread go all the way down inside the baskets, for a good and
even toasting result.

Insert the bread baskets into the appliance.

Select the desired browning setting.
- Select a low setting (1-2) for lightly toasted sandwiches.
- Select a high setting (5-7) for darkly toasted sandwiches.
- Select the defrost function

(settings 6-7, depending on the desired browning degree) for
toasting frozen bread.
Note: If the bread is damp or if you have put a lot of ingredients between the slices, the appliance will
need a longer toasting time to produce the same toasting result.

Push the toasting lever down to switch the appliance on.
Tip: If the filled baskets get stuck inside the appliance, remove the plug from the wall socket, let the
appliance cool down completely and carefully remove the baskets from the appliance.

Lift the bread baskets out of the appliance by the handles.

Squeeze the handle of the bread basket (1) and turn the bread basket upside down to
remove the sandwich or slice of bread (2) (Fig. 8).
Warming up rolls and croissants (HD2587 only)

Place the warming rack on top of the toaster (Fig. 9).
Never put the rolls to be heated up directly on top of the toaster without the warming rack to
avoid damaging the toaster.

Put the rolls or croissants on top of the warming rack (Fig. 10).
Do not warm up more than 2 items at a time.

Turn the browning control to the warming setting and push the toasting lever down.
Tip: If you want to warm the rolls or croissants on both sides, turn them after the toaster has switched
itself off. Leave the browning control on the warming setting and switch the toaster on again by pushing
the toasting lever down.
Cleaning

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.

Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.
Caution: Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or
acetone to clean the appliance.

To remove crumbs from the appliance, slide the crumb tray out of the appliance and empty
it (Fig. 11).
Caution: Do not hold the appliance upside down and do not shake it to remove the crumbs.
