Installing your wired laser mouse
Installing the SPM4600
1 Switch off the computer.
2 Disconnect the old mouse.
3 Plug the mouse USB connector into the computer
USB port.
4 Switch on the computer.
> The SPM4600 is now ready for use.
Notes:
–
If your PC runs on Windows
®
98, a pop-up window may appear when you plug the mouse USB
connector into the computer USB port.You will be asked to insert the Windows
®
98 CD-ROM.
Please do so and follow the on-screen instructions for installing the required driver or set the
driver path as ‘Windows\system’ or the other path that the driver located.
– The laser technology can precisely detect the mouse motion on most surfaces. Avoid using the
wired laser mouse on any glass, reflective, transparant. metallic or complex-pattern surface.
Installing the driver software
The scroll wheel 4-way navigation function enables you
to scroll through your documents in up-, down-, left- and right direction.
To activate the 4-way navigation function you have to install the driver
software.The driver supports Windows
®
98 / 2000 / ME / XP.
1 Remove any existing mouse drivers completely.
2 Insert the driver CD-ROM into the computer CD / DVD drive.
> The application starts automatically.
• If the apllication does not start automatically: go to ‘My computer’,
select the driver CD-ROM and double click on the setup icon.
3 Follow the instructions in the install shield.
4 Restart the computer.

Activating the extra functions of the scroll wheel
1 Double click the mouse icon in the task bar.
> The ‘Mouse settings’ menu appears.
2 Select ‘Wheel’ or ‘Button’ and select the desired settings.
3 Select ‘Apply’ to save the settings.
4 Select ‘OK’.
Note:To use the shortcut function of the scroll wheel, you have to press it.
Tips for using your wired laser mouse
• Avoid using the mouse under following conditions:
– in direct sunlight;
– in extreme hot, cold, dusty or magnetic environments;
• Avoid direct or indirect (e.g. reflection) eye exposure to the laser
light!
• Keep the mouse out of reach of children.
