Client monitoring
The "Client monitoring" function checks the availability of devices in the network. The clients
to be monitored are added to the client monitoring table and their availability is checked via
an ICMP message.

A monitored client can trigger an action if it cannot be reached. The action could be,
for example, sending an e-mail to the appropriate person.
Action: Up/down WLAN 1/2
If the Ethernet device can no longer be reached via ICMP, this setting switches off the
WLAN adapter. If ICMP is executed on the gateway of the access point, the access point
can now detect that it no longer has an uplink.
The WLAN adapter switches off and thus aborts its connection to all clients. This prevents
clients from dialing in when the access point has no connectivity.
To check the current time of ICMP responses, the "Status" field has a tool tip for a
symbolic LED.
If a valid address is stored in the "E-mail server" and "E-mail address" field, a change in
status is indicated via e-mail.
