P611 Positioners
NOTICE
Operating voltage too high or incorrectly connected!
Operating voltages that are too high or incorrectly connected can cause damage to the P-611.
Operate the P-611 only with controllers/drivers and original accessories from PI.
Do
not
exceed the operating voltage range (p. 40) for which the P-611 is specified.
Operate the P-611 only when the operating voltage is properly connected; see "Pin
Assignment" (p. 49).
NOTICE
Uncontrolled oscillation!
Oscillation can cause irreparable damage to the P-611. Oscillation is indicated by a humming
noise and can be caused by the following:
A change in the load and/or dynamics requires the servo control parameters to be
adjusted.
The P-611 is operated near to its resonant frequency.
If you notice oscillation:
In closed-loop operation, switch off the servo mode immediately.
In open-loop operation, stop the P-611 immediately.
INFORMATION
Positive direction of axis motion is specified in the product view (p. 10).
INFORMATION
Sound and vibration (e.g., footfall, knocks) can be transmitted to the P-611 and can affect its
performance with regard to position stability.
Avoid sound and vibration while the P-611 is being operated.
6.2
Operating the P611
Follow the instructions in the manual for the electronics (p. 13) used for starting and
operating the P-611.
