Tergeo plasma cleaner operator’s manual
Revision: B3, Year 2020
Assembly procedure
1)
Place the Tergeo plasma cleaner on a secure table space. Dropping plasma cleaner from
unstable table space will severe damage the plasma cleaner. Damage caused by such
negligence will not be protected by PIE Scientific limited warranty policy.
2)
Please make sure all the four rubber feet land on a flat table space. If an object is placed
under the middle of the plasma cleaner, the enclosure bottom plate will deform under the
weight of the plasma cleaner.
3)
Connect the AC power cord to the single phase power outlet. Tergeo plasma system support
universal 100V~230V AC at 50/60Hz. There are two power input cables for the plasma
cleaner, one for the plasma system and one for the vacuum pump. If the vacuum pump will
be controlled by the plasma cleaner, please plug in the power cord of the vacuum pump into
the pump power outlet port on the back of the plasma cleaner.
4)
Make sure there is no dust particles on the o-ring. If possible, use PTFE high vacuum grease
to lightly grease the o-ring for better vacuum seal.
5)
Insert the quartz sample holder plate into the sample chamber. Please refer to Figure 6,
sample chamber assembly
6)
Align the locking pins on the front cap with the locking grooves on the door. Insert the front
cap into the door. Then rotate the front cap clockwise until it stops. There is no need to
push or rotate the cap with excessive force. Atmospheric pressure will push down the cap
once the chamber is pumped down.
When Tergeo is first shipped from the factory, the
chamber is usually under the vacuum. User can’t open the front cap until the chamber has
been vented to the atmospheric pressure. Do not use excessive force to push or rotate the
front cap. Atmospheric pressure is strong enough to create the vacuum seal.
7)
Connect the NW25 pumping port to the vacuum pump using stainless steel bellow or rubber
hose. If the inlet pump on the vacuum pump is NW16, please use an NW16- NW25 adapter
to change the port size.
The vacuum hose must be connected to the pump inlet port instead of
the pump exhaust port. If the plasma cleaner is connected to the pump
exhaust port, it will damage the valve inside the plasma cleaner!!!
