to the function and operation of the crutches in order to
be able to carry out the necessary checks and controls in
a proper manner. Such personnel must be able to carry
out their work entirely independently.
Description of the technical safety controls
Sight test:

The operating instructions manual to hand.

Checking that the equipment is complete.
»
Inscriptions on the labels are legible and complete.
»
Mechanical damage on the crutches (cracks or
breakages on the metallic and synthetic parts).
»
Function testing: Low battery charge level, buzzer and
vibration alarm.
»
Radio communication with the PC.
»
Carrying out function controls in accordance with the
operating instructions and service manual.
Measurement technical controls
»
Crutch calibration at weight bearing levels of 10, 15,
20 and 25 kg.

The results of the measurement technical controls and
the technical safety controls are to be recorded in a
test protocol. The date and the name of the person/
company who/which has carried out the controls
are to be included in the protocol. In the event that
a PIERENSTEP crutch does not function properly or
is not operationally safe to use, the crutch must be
repaired before re-use.
Guarantee
The PIERENSTEP measuring system is guaranteed for a
period of one year from the date of delivery if used in
accordance with this manual.
