Special Functions
Attaching USB Devices
The ShowCenter USB port only supports "mass storage" devices, which use a
file system. This includes, for example, USB memory sticks, USB hard drives,
and digital cameras.
Other USB devices, for example, mouses, keyboards, CD/DVD drives, scanners,
printers, and WiFi adapters are not supported. The devices must be formatted
with a FAT32 file system and may not contain a USB hub. However, you can
use the USB port as a power source as long as your power requirements do not
exceed the USB standard of 500 mA.
To connect USB devices, first go to the
server options menu
via
Settings
and
then press the
A
button on your remote control. Then connect the USB device;
the presence of the device is indicated on this page after a short time. Select the
device and confirm by pressing the
OK
button. The directories and files on the
device are displayed and can be played back individually. This works even
without a connection to the server PC.
Note that DRM-protected files cannot be played via the USB connection.
Dolby® Digital Sound Playback
The ShowCenter provides Dolby Digital Sound for VOB and MPEG 4 AVI
formatted movies via the digital audio outputs. For this, a Dolby
receiver/decoder needs to be connected to the output jacks.
Due to licensing restrictions, Dolby Digital Sound is by default not available via
the analog stereo output jacks. However, you can activate this feature by paying
the applicable fees.
To activate this feature, select
Start/Programs/Pinnacle
ShowCenter/Options/Activate Dolby Digital soundtracks on analog audio
outputs
and follow the instructions on the screen.
After successful activation, turn you ShowCenter Player off and then on again
and then select
Settings/Movie options
in the
TV Menu
. Under
Dolby Digital
Output
, select the option
Analog Output (Stereo)
.
