Special Functions
Displaying Movie Subtitles
Subtitles in VOB movies can be selected and displayed by pressing the
C
button
on your remote control while the movie is playing.
For MPEG 4 AVI movies, subtitles are also supported in the following formats:
MicroDVD ("SUB"), SubRip ("SRT"), and Substation Alpha ("SSA"). The
subtitle files need to be placed in the same folder as the movie and the file name
needs to be identical to the name of the movie (except for the file extension).
Only West European character sets are supported.
In addition, the display needs to be turned on via
Settings/Movie options
in the
TV Menu
. For MPEG 4 AVI movies, the
C
button has no function.
Automatic Playlists
In the Pinnacle MediaManager, you can assign star ratings to media (0 to 5
stars), either by using the
Organize
tab or by right-clicking in the library view.
Any medium with four or five stars is then automatically added to the
Top rated
playlist. This playlist is available not only in the Pinnacle MediaManager but
also in the ShowCenter Player and on your TV via the
Auto Playlists
option.
The ShowCenter also counts how often specific media files are played and uses
this information to generate
Auto Playlists
under the categories of
Most played
,
Least played
, and
Not played
.
Detecting Missing or Modified Media
If you delete, move or rename a media file, the corresponding ShowCenter
database reference is displayed as empty. A new background process detects this
"missing medium" and marks it with a broken link icon in the Pinnacle
MediaManager library view. You can display all the missing files via the
Missing Media
category.
To restore the connection to a missing file, select the file in the library and then
right-click
Repair missing media
. You can read more about scanning for
missing media in the
File
menu via
Preferences
in the Pinnacle MediaManager.
The scan can also be started manually using the
tools/Scan for
missing/modified media
menu.
If you sometimes use a different program for organizing your music, it can
happen that the ID3 information in your music files no longer corresponds to the
contents of the ShowCenter database. These files are detected and marked with a
question mark icon. These
Modified Media
are displayed in the category of the
same name in the Pinnacle MediaManager. To restore the ID3 information,
select the modified media, then right-click and select
Update values from file
.
Modified media detection applies only to music files.
