Basic Operations of DVD Player
Selecting the DVD
1. Press the SOURCE button.
Press repeatedly until DVD is selected, and the disc starts playing. (See page 49.)
Note:
• If you were previously playing a DVD, playback of that disc resumes from where you left off.
• With some discs, a menu may be displayed. (See page 74.)
2. Set the remote control’s operation mode switch to “DVD”.
(Refer to “Setting the Remote Control for DVD Player Operation” on page 20.)
IP AUTO Mode
• When power to DVD Player is switched OFF, you can switch the IP AUTO mode
ON/OFF by pressing the POWER button for two seconds.
When the IP AUTO mode is ON, if a disc is loaded in DVD player, the AV Receiver
automatically switches the source to DVD Player.
If the IP AUTO mode is OFF, even if there is a disc loaded in DVD player, the AV
Receiver will not switch the source to DVD Player.
When using DVD Player mainly as a REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM, you
are recommended to switch the IP AUTO mode OFF.
• When the IP AUTO mode is ON, [A] is indicated in the Display Setting Menu.
In the initial settings, the IP AUTO mode is switched ON.
When using a rear display
• Even if the source selected with the AV Receiver is not DVD, if you switch power to
DVD Player ON with the POWER button, you can watch the DVD picture from DVD
Player on the rear display.
• Regardless of whether the AV Receiver is switched ON/OFF, you can switch power to
DVD Player ON/OFF.
Precautions
• When you have switched power to DVD Player ON by pressing the POWER button, be
sure not to forget to switch power to DVD Player OFF. If you switch power to DVD
Player OFF after switching to DVD video display, the display shows that power to DVD
Player has been switched OFF.
• When you eject a source disc (CD or MD) selected with the AV Receiver, power to the
AV Receiver switches OFF. Depending on the connection method, the picture on the
rear display may disappear.
