Resetting the microprocessor
The microprocessor must be reset in the following
situations:
• Before using this unit for the first time after
installation
• If the unit fails to operate properly
• When error message continuously appear on the
display.
Note
If you cannot press RESET after installation, turn the
ignition switch to ACC ON followed by ACC OFF
and then ACC ON to reset.
1 Turn the ignition switch to ACC ON.
2 Press RESET with a pen tip or other pointed
instrument.

Updating the firmware
This function is used to update the smartphone link
adaptor firmware with the latest firmware.
For about smartphone link adaptor firmware and
updating, refer to the Pioneer head unit owner’s
manual.
Note
When MirrorLink mode setting is in App List Mode,
the firmware version number appears in the lower
right corner of the screen.
When MirrorLink mode setting is in Car Mode, press
the home button to switch to App List Mode in order
to check the firmware version number.

Installation Procedure
1 Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2 Connect each cable and connector, referring to
the connection diagram. Refer to Connecting
the units.
3 Install the adapter.
4 Connect the negative battery terminal.
5 After installation, check the connections and
the system.
Operation procedure
1 Press the Home button on the Pioneer head
unit and touch the MirrorLink icon in the
Home display.
Depending on the type of smartphone that is
connected, you may have to perform operations
on the smartphone side.
2 You can operate the applications on the touch
panel screen as well as on your smartphone
screen.
3 Refer to the Pioneer head unit owner’s manual
for instructions on how to operate the Pioneer
head unit buttons.
Note
If the MirrorLink icon does not appear on the Home
display or an error message appears on the display,
follow the procedures below.
• Disconnect the cable from the smartphone, and
then connect the smartphone again after a few
seconds.
• Turn the ignition switch OFF and then to ACC or
ON.
If the error message is still displayed after performing
the above action, reset the smartphone.
If the error message is still displayed after performing
the above action, please contact your dealer or an
authorized Pioneer Service Station.
