What To Do
How Often
Feed Rollers
Lint and paper dust tend to build up on the
feed rollers over time. Clean the rollers
as needed, especially when they appear
glazed or have a yellowish residue. Use a
soft cotton cloth, dampened with alcohol, to
clean all rubber rollers.
If the tires on the main feed rollers have de-
teriorated to the point that cleaning cannot
restore them, replace them. See Chapter 5
of this manual for instructions.
Monthly or
as Needed
Feed Deck
And Covers
Periodically wipe the machine covers and
deck assembly with a soft, cotton cloth
dampened with water only.
Quarterly
Exit Idler
Rollers
If the idler rollers are misaligned, it is possi-
ble for ink to transfer from the material onto
the roller surface.
Use a soft cloth dampened with water to
remove the ink from the rollers.

as Needed
Paper, Exit,
and Feeder
Sensor
With use, a dusty film builds up on the sen-
sor. This can eventually cause misfeeds.
Use compressed air to blow dust from the
sensor. If a film has developed over the
sensor, remove the sensor and clean it with
alcohol. See Chapter 5 of this manual for
removal instructions.
Weekly
Print Head
The print head periodically performs a self
cleaning cycle. If print quality is unaccept-
able, select the Purge function from the LCD
Main Menu or Software Control Panel.
If problems still persist perform the follow-
ing:
• Wipe the print head cartridge nozzles us-
ing a soft cotton cloth dampened with water.
• If cleaning doesn’t fix the problem, install a
new ink cartridge.
• Check the flex circuit for crushed dimples
As Needed
Pan Assembly
The pan assembly at the bottom of the print-
er collects paper dust.
Remove the bottom Pan Access Cover peri-
odically and clean dust from the printer.
