Network Specifications and Requirements for PC Meter
Connect
PC Meter Connect™ desktop application is PC-based software that allows you to use your PC's high-
speed Internet (via broadband, DSL, network, etc.) to connect your mailing machine to the PB Data
Centre, as well as provide convenient access to mailing machine settings from your PC if running the
Enhanced version (model DM125). A USB cable is provided to connect your machine to any free USB
port on the back of the PC that is running PC Meter Connect.
In addition, if you use PC Meter Connect™ during the initial installation of your machine, it will guide you
through the entire machine setup process.
Minimum PC Requirements for PC Meter Connect

Windows 2000, Windows XP (32-Bits and 64 Bits), Windows Vista (32-Bits and 64 Bits), and
Windows 7 (32-Bits and 64 Bits).
l
1.2 GHz processor, 512 Mb RAM.
l
USB port.
l
Administrative privilege to install software.
l
Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 (required for PC Meter Connect) will be automatically installed if it is
not ready on the PC. This is a one-time installation.
l
Internet Connection.
l
Non-Windows Operating Systems, e.g. Mac and Linux, are not supported.
Network Requirements for the Meter Using PC Meter Connect
l
The System (Meter and PC Meter Connect desktop application) requires an Internet connection,
accessed through a Wired or Wireless LAN.
l
The system supports 10/100 Ethernet transfer rates; Full Duplex.
l
The system initiates all communication.
l
The system initiates all communication via HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP.
l
The system communicates to external Web Services via HTTP over Port 80.
l
The system communicates to PB secure server(s) via HTTPS over port 443.
