Next, using the appropriate power tool, bevel the edges of the top of the wood base. The recommended
bevel is at a 45º angle and 1/4" wide.

Remove the backing from the magnetic strip. Place your magnetic strip where you drew your lines.

Attach the pen mount with the 5/32" flat-head screw from the bottom side.

Attach one felt dot foot in each corner on the bottom side of the board.
Base

Determine which side will be used as the top of the wood base. With a pencil, mark the locations of the
magnetic strip and pen mount, referring to the following diagram.

Magnetic strip placement: Using your ruler, measure 1" from the front edge. Mark a 2" line. Make a 1/2"
line 1-3/4" from the short side (left) of the wood base.

Pen mount placement: Next, from the opposite side of the front edge, measure in 2-1/8" and then
measure up 1" and place a mark. Using a drill with a 5/32" bit, drill a hole through the board. On the
other side of the board, use a 3/16" bit and counterbore 1/4" deep.
