Brightness
The Brightness setting adjusts the Black Level of HD MediaBox. HD MediaBox has been properly calibrated for
Black Level at the factory and it is first recommended that you try the ‘default’ level and adjust your display to
match. If a suitable image cannot be obtained, this HD MediaBox adjustment may help.
Black Level (Brightness) should be set at the point where black areas of the image look black AND where you can
see the difference between black and near-black. It is recommended that you use properly designed test material,
but if you don’t have a test pattern for adjusting black level, select a scene with lots of dark areas (for example, a
man wearing a black jacket in a dark night background), and adjust the Brightness. Use a variety of files and
formats to get a good balance.
