5.1
Paper quality and machine performance
• To make an accurate book you must enter accurate paper dimensions into the
touch screen.
• The paper dimensions change due to shrinkage when the paper is printed.
• If the book is made from several different types of paper, make sure the different
paper types are all the same size. If the size of the paper is different, an accurate
book cannot be made.
• The paper must be cut accurately. If the sheets are not cut squarely, an accurate
book cannot be made.
Perform the following tasks:
Load the saved “A3 Test” job.
Use 40 sheets A3 paper/80gsm
Make the book

Alignment and Level
It is important that the alignment of the PSQ160 to the bridge and the alignment of
the bridge to the printer is correct. This can change if either the PSQ160 or the
printer is moved accidentally. Incorrect alignment can be the cause of paper jams.
For the best quality books and operation, the printer, the bridge and the PSQ160
must be level. Level must be checked on installation and again if the machine is
moved.
5.3
Clear paper jams
The operator can clear most paper or book jams. These procedures are described
in the User Manual and include paper jams in the
• connecting bridge
• gathering area
• staple area
• fold and form area
• trim area
