Power
The PSQ160 uses a single phase power supply. Internally the power supply voltage
is changed to:
• 46V DC for the stepper motor drives
• 26V DC for proximity sensors, clinchers, staple heads, solenoids
• 15V DC to provide lower voltages for the CAN Bus
, optical
sensors and on-board processing
• Mains voltage is supplied to the inverter for the main drive motor
The main drive motor is a 3 phase motor. The frequency inverter is used to change
the single phase to 3 phase. A reactor is connected just before the inverter. The
reactor has 3 independent inductive coils - it's a 3 phase device, of which 2 are used
- through which the supply voltage is passed to the motor drive (i.e. the inverter and
motor). The reactor can filter the electrical waveform and reduce electrical noise/
transients in the drive system. In this particular instance the device fitted filters out
undesirable harmonics which are outside the required harmonic distortion limits
under operational conditions.
