The Counter Utility program automatically counts the number of sheets scanned by
your scanner. From the Windows
START
menu, point to
All Programs

Scanner Model Name

Scanner Utility

your mouse cursor to the upper or lower right corner of your screen to open the
Charm
bar. Click on the
Start
charm, then click on the downwards arrow button in the lower
left corner of the screen. The
Apps
screen will be shown. Move your cursor to the right
edge of the screen to scroll right until you find

Your scanner is designed with two different lock statuses to protect the optical parts.
To ensure the scanner working properly, you have to choose an appropriate lock status
according to the situation.
Always Unlock:
A scanning-ready status. Furthermore, if you place your scanner on a long-term
position, you can also keep your scanner lock in this status. To unlock the
scanner, slide the locking switch on the scanner’s underside toward the back
panel of the scanner until it snaps into place.
