and dents. Minor surface cracks will not impair the effectiveness of
this helmet. Check the webbing and buckles for damage or excessive
wear.

This helmet should be assigned to a single user who is responsible for
inspecting it after each use. Make sure that the surface of the helmet
has no dents or signifi cant cracks. Inspect the webbing and buckles
for damage or excessive wear. If needed, wash the helmet with clear
water or a mild soap, such as PMI Rope Soap. Ordinary laundry
detergent, or solutions that may contain bleach, should not be used on
life safety gear.

Air dry in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Store the helmet in
a cool place where it will be protected from exposure to potentially
damaging chemicals. Repair or modifi cation of this product without
the manufacturers written consent is strictly forbidden. You should

HELMET TECH INFO

A comfortable, well-fi tting helmet that is designed specifi cally for
vertical work is essential. Helmets must have a secure chin strap and
a three-point suspension to keep the helmet on the head when it is
needed most. A three point suspension refers to a helmet with webbing
support points on both sides of the helmet and one at the rear. The
chin strap should also be designed so that a relatively high force is
required to cause a release. This helps keep the helmet on the user’s
head in a tumbling fall. The inside suspension of the helmet should hold
the shell away from the skull during a blow to the helmet and should
provide air circulation and comfort, particularly during hot weather.
The shell should have the rigidity to resist impact to the helmet and
penetration by sharp objects but be fl exible enough to absorb some
of the blow that otherwise would be directly transmitted to the skull
and spine.

The design of the helmet should protect the head against objects
falling from above and hitting from the side. A slight brim helps
prevent rainwater or spray from dripping into your face. However,
your helmet should have a narrow enough profi le to allow you a good
upward fi eld of vision and to ensure that the back of the helmet does
not catch on a backpack when you raise your head.

This helmet is not designed to provide protection from the following hazards:
non-ionizing radiation, ionizing radiation, external radiation or any condition
not expressly stated in this use information.
