light or by covering their surface with an opaque material. Observe the safety
regulations for live electrical equipment when working with modules that
are exposed to light. Use insulated tools and do not wear metal jewelry while
working with photovoltaic modules.
To avoid electric arc and electric shocks, do not disconnect the electrical
connections under load. Wrong connections can also cause arcs and electric
shocks. Keep the connectors dry and clean and make sure they are in good
working order. Never insert metal objects into connectors and do not modify
them under any circumstances to ensure an electrical connection.
Do not touch or handle photovoltaic modules that have broken glass, a broken
frame or damaged back film unless the photovoltaic modules have been
disconnected first and wear appropriate protective equipment. Avoid handling
photovoltaic modules when they are wet, unless you clean them first according
to the instructions in this manual. Never touch electrical connections that are
damp without protecting yourself with insulated gloves.
Transport and handling of solar panels
• The photovoltaic modules must be transported only in the original
packaging and kept in the packaging until they are ready for installation.
• Protect pallets against movement and damage during transport.
• Secure the pallets against falling.
• Do not exceed the maximum height of the pallets to be stacked, as
indicated on the pallet packaging.
• Store the pallets in a cool, dry place until the photovoltaic modules are
ready to be unpacked.
• Photovoltaic modules are heavy and must be handled with care.
• Photovoltaic modules must be handled by the frame; never use the junction
box or cables to handle the panels.
• Do not apply mechanical stress to the panel cables.
• Never step on photovoltaic modules and do not drop or place heavy objects
on them.
• Be careful when placing photovoltaic modules on hard surfaces and secure
them against falling. Broken glass can lead to personal injury. Broken glass
photovoltaic modules cannot be repaired and must not be used. Broken or
damaged photovoltaic modules must be handled with care and disposed of
