Understanding the Screen
Matching required?
Y
Enter yes to enable the ID, GP Links LX and LR screens
to match the patient address against PAF. Matching will
include exact, multi-postcode and fuzzy matching.
N
Enter no if foreground matching is not required. All
remaining matching fields will be set to
N
. Related
Address Code Linking and Part Premise Linking must
also be set to
N
.
exact matching
The patient address line 1, address line 2, locality, town
and county match exactly with PAF. Some manipulation
of lines 1 and 2 may occur, and the postcode may differ.
(The county field may be blank because PAF does not
always hold county details for addresses in large towns.)
multi-postcode matching
A match has been found, but the address has more than
one postcode.
Related address code matching?
This field may only be set to
Y
if the Matching required field has been set to
Y
, and
the
Link on related address code match
field has been set to
Y
.
Y
Enter yes to perform related address code matching. This is where an
exact match cannot be found using the patient’s address code, but a
relationship to another address code exists and a match can be found
using this related address code.
Part premise matching?
This field may only be set to
Y
if the Matching required field has been set to
Y
, and
the
Link on part premise match
field has been set to
Y
.
Y
Enter yes to perform part premise matching. This is where the patient’s
address contains, for example, a house name and number but the PAF
contains only a house number (or vice versa).
Advisory locality fuzzy matching?
This field may only be set to
Y
if the Matching required field has been set to
Y
.
Y
Enter yes to perform advisory locality fuzzy matching. This is where an
exact match using the patient’s address code cannot be found, but
match(es) can be found with other localities within the same town (no
address code relationships have been set up).
Abbreviated entry? (ID only)
This field may only be set to
Y
if the Matching required field has been set to
Y
.
Y
Enter yes to enable the ID screen to match using abbreviated address
details, such as premise identifier and postcode.
