Bulk Transfer Screen 1 – B1
B1 Screen
The B1 screen is used to:
Set parameters to perform a Bulk Transfer, Abeyance or Dispersal.
•
Request printed Bulk Transfer letters or address labels.
•
Transfer a GP’s Child Health Surveillance and/or Contraceptive claims.
NOTE
You cannot bulk transfer a GP’s list from a “real” GP to a
“dummy” GP, that is, a GP with a local GP code in the range
ZZZ100–ZZZ999.
Bulk Transfer details are passed to the B2 screen where they may be queued for
processing on the AJ-Q screen. BT Address labels are passed to the RP application for
print preparation (described in Section 5, Chapter 1). Bulk Transfer Letters may be
produced using the Letter Library (described in Section 6, Chapter 1).
Bulk Transfers are initiated for final processing on the AJ-Q screen. After processing,
patient details are passed to the analysis print queue (PQ-AP) for print preparation and
printing. For further details of the analysis print, see Section 5.
Transfer Types
Bulk Transfers
A Bulk Transfer will move a GP’s list en masse to one or more receiving GPs. The
receiving GPs must be in a practice (on the PC screen) as of the day after the
displayed action date. Patients may be bulk transferred when a GP resigns or is
removed from the HA’s Medical List. There are a variety of reasons why GPs may be
removed from the medical list, such as:
•
GP dies
•
GP resigns
•
GP retires (maximum retirement age 70)
•
GP has ceased to be a registered medical practitioner
•
GP has had his/her name erased / been suspended from the register at the
direction of the General Medical Council
•
GP has not personally administered any general medical services in the past
six months.
Abeyance
NOTE
This procedure was withdrawn on 31 December 2006 – the “cut-off” date.
An Abeyance is the situation when patients are transferred to a GP’s list on a
temporary basis. Patients are often placed in Abeyance when a GP’s list is to be
transferred, and a successor for the list has not been found or agreed by the Medical
Practices Committee.
