MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
Lubrication Recommendations
Engine Oil
Oil Check (ATP 330)
The oil fill is located on the left side of
the engine (1). Maintain the oil level in
the safe operating range (2). Do not overfill.
1. Position the machine on a level
surface.
2. Start the engine and let it idle for
20-30 seconds. Stop the engine.
3. Remove the dipstick and wipe it dry
with a clean cloth.
4. Screw the dipstick completely in.
5. Remove the dipstick and read the oil
level. Add the recommended oil as needed.
Oil and Filter Change (ATP 330)
CAUTION
If the ATV is left without oil in the system for extended periods,
the oil pump may lose its prime, which could result in engine
damage. Always replace the oil and filter within a few hours of
draining the oil. Do not allow the vehicle to be without oil
overnight.
1. Obtain the correct oil filter and an adequate supply of oil so the oil
and filter change can be completed without interruption.
2. Position the vehicle on a level surface.
3. Clean the area around the drain plug on the bottom of the engine
crankcase.
4. Run the engine for two to three minutes until warm. Stop the
engine.
CAUTION
Contact with hot oil may result in serious burns. Do not allow hot
oil to come into contact with skin.
5. Place a drain pan beneath the engine crankcase and remove the
drain plug.
6. Allow the oil to drain completely.
7. Install a new sealing washer on the drain plug.
NOTE:
The sealing surfaces on the drain plug and crankcase should
be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches.
