Adjustments
Carburetor/Engine Idle RPM Adjustment
If the engine idle speed is not satisfactory and
all other conditions are favorable, the carburetor
can be adjusted as follows:
1. Start the engine and allow it to warm up for
approximately five minutes.
2. Place the transmission in gear and lock the
parking brake.
3. Adjust the carburetor idle screw (1) in or
out until the desired idle RPM is reached.
Turning the screw in (clockwise) will raise RPM. Turning the
screw out (counterclockwise) will lower RPM.
Throttle Cable Freeplay Adjustment
Throttle cable freeplay is adjusted at the handlebar.
1. Slide the boots (1) off the inline cable adjuster sleeve (2). Loosen
the adjuster locknut (3).
2. Turn the adjuster until 1/16
″
to 1/8
″
freeplay is achieved at the
thumb lever. Flip the throttle lever several times to confirm the
adjustment.
3. Tighten the locknut and slide the boots over the cable adjuster until
they touch at the middle point of the adjuster.
