FUEL TANK REMOVAL
WARNING
Always wear safety goggles when working with high
pressure or flammable fluids. Failure to do so could
result in serious injury or complications.
1. Remove the driver seat base, storage bins, and
battery box. Perform steps 1– 6 of Front Prop Shaft
Removal, page 7.10
2. Remove fuel cap.
NOTE
Syphon as much fuel from the tank as possible before
attempting to remove it from the vehicle.
3. Remove fasteners and driver-side body panel.
4. Install fuel cap.
5. While holding a shop towel overain the fuel line
connectors, disconnect the fuel line
q
from the fuel
pump. Refer to Fuel Line Removal / Installation, page
4.10 procedure.
NOTE
A small amount of fuel may come out of the fuel lines or
pump fitting. Properly drain fuel into a suitable
container.
6. Remove the fuel tank vent line

from the tank fitting.
7. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical harness

8. Remove the two fuel tank bracket fasteners

that
retain the fuel tank in the chassis. Swing the tank
brackets clear of the fuel tank for removal.
