Engine Oil
Oil Level Inspection

Warm up the machine for sev-
eral minutes.
D
Stop the engine and wait 3-5
minutes.
D
Remove the dipstick and
clean the oil off of the dipstick.
D
Place machine on a level area
and hold it in an upright posi-
tion.
D
Check the engine oil level
with the motorcycle held up-
right, 3-5 minutes after having
been run with the dipstick
screwed in and seated.
D
Remove the dipstick and read the oil level. The oil level should be between the
maximum and minimum marks. If the level is low, add oil to raise it to the speci-
fied level.
Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
CAUTION
A oil filter wrench is required
when replacing the oil filter. Take
your machine to a Victory dealer
or refer to the service manual
when replacing the oil filter.

Warm up the engine for sev-
eral minutes.
D
Stop the engine. Securely
support the machine on its
sidestand.
CAUTION
D
Take care not to upset the ma-
chine while working on it.
Place an oil pan under the en-
gine and remove the oil filler
cap.
D
Remove the drain plug (1) and drain the oil.
D
Remove the oil filter (2).
D
Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (if the used washer is dam-
aged) and tighten it to 28 ft. lbs.
D
Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the new oil filter. Make sure the
O-ring is seated properly.
