SAFETY FIRST
Protective Apparel
WARNING:
Head injuries are the main cause of motorcycle fatalities. The
use of an approved safety helmet is critical to the prevention or reduction of head
injuries.
Both the operator and the passenger should observe the following guide-
lines.
1. Always wear a D.O.T. or SNELL approved helmet.
2. Always use a face shield or goggles to protect your eyes. Impaired vision can
contribute to accidents.
3. Always wear heavy boots, long sleeved jacket, gloves, and trousers to reduce
the severity of lacerations, abrasions or burns.
4. Never wear loose fitting clothing. Loose fitting clothing can impair the
operation of controls, become entangled in moving parts (wheels, drive belt,
etc.), or impair vision and/or control and cause an accident.
5. The engine and exhaust become very hot during operation and stay hot for a
period after operation. Never touch any part of the engine or exhaust during or
after operation. Always wear clothing that covers your legs, ankles, and feet.
