If your pond is new, tests must be carried out every 3 days for the first 6 weeks during the initial use of
the device.
It is recommended to carry out an additional test after maintenance and after any change to the pond
(cleaning, high temperatures, new fish, administering medication). It is beneficial for the pond to
replace ± 10% of the water every week.
It is also important to remove dying hair algae from the pond to prevent them from extracting
oxygen from the water and clogging up the filter and pump. We also recommend checking the pond
water regularly for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate values during the initial use of the device. It is also
recommended to limit feeding the fish during this period, as an excess of fish feed will stimulate the
growth of hair algae.
Problems with the generation of oxygen could arise in a pond with a surplus of decaying substances.
It is therefore advisable to replace 25% of the pond water after 14 days when using the Electrolyzer for
the first time.
The Electrolyzer cannot be used at outside temperatures below 12˚C (October to March inclusive).
The Electrolyzer may not be used if you have snails or mussels in your pond that you would like to
keep.
Even the smallest quantities of copper minerals are fatal for molluscs. The Electrolyzer can also not be
used if you are breeding trout or salmon.
Pond Technics has no prior knowledge of the environmental conditions of your pond and of your
individual use. Pond Technics cannot therefore be made accountable for any failures or damage.
USE
Do not use in combination with clinoptilolite or other zeolites. Make sure you test the water before
switching the Electrolyzer on. Ensure a minimum carbonate hardness (KH) of 7 ˚DH and a minimum
total hardness (TH) of 8 ˚DH. The pH value of the water must be at least 7 pH (between 7 and 8). The
ideal copper balance is between 0.1 and 0.2 ppm. The test strip will show you whether the copper
content is too high or too low. If table salt or sea salt has been added to the pond water, the water must
be completely replaced before you can use the Electrolyzer. If you want to use water conditioners, the
Electrolyzer must be switched off for the period these products are used.
After the installation of the Copper Electrolyzer, it is possible that the fish in the pond could behave
abnormally for a while, or show signs of anxiety. This is quite normal, and they will behave normally
again after a while. If this behaviour continues for too long, however, you can switch off the Electrolyzer
for a few days.
The Electrolyzer is switched on by pressing the “+” button on the display. The status of the copper
emission will appear on the screen in red. This could be a figure between “0” and “99”. If the
