3.1 Material Machine is Capable of
Processing
The Portafill 4000T can be used for screening
and sizing the following materials:
Top Soil
Compost
Land Fill Waste
Light Recycling Debris
Green Waste

contact your authorized Distributor for
assistance.
Note:
The performance of the Portafill 4000T can
vary depending on the type and moisture
content of the raw feed material. It may be
required that you contact your local
authorized Dealer or contact the factory
directly for guidance on your specific
application.
3.2 Operating Techniques
To
achieve
maximum
efficiency
and
production from the Portafill 4000T, a
number of factors should be considered:
Efficient loading of feeder
Feeder speed
Screen media size and type
Screen Speed
3.3 Efficient Loading of Hopper/Grid
When feeding material onto the Hopper/Grid
section of the Portafill 4000T - To avoid
damage to the hopper section, material
should never be dropped from a high bucket
angle onto the grid section. Material should
be “rolled” onto the grid section from as low
an angle as possible allowing the material to
slide off.
The oversized material from the grid bars
should not be allowed to build up in front of
the chassis and stabilisers legs. Remove when
required by pushing or lifting the oversize
material with the loader by coming along the
side of the machine.
Do not charge the Portafill 4000T front on as
this may result in damage to the machine.
3.4 Feeder Speed
The speed of the Feeder can be controlled by
the operator. The faster the Feeder speed the
more material will transfer to the trommel. To
adjust the Feeder speed turn the Feeder
Conveyor Speed Control (located inside the
Power pack Canopy) as indicated on the
sticker.
3.5 Drum Mesh Selection
The type of material and the desired output
sizes will determine the size of opening in the
Trommel Drum. Please select the correct
drum mesh size to suit your application.
3.6 Screen Speed
The drum speed of the Portafill 4000T can be
adjusted via the Drum Speed variable control
located inside the Power Pack Canopy. The
speed of the rotation of the trommel can be
adjusted as indicated on the sticker.
