Cleaning and chair maintenance

The chair should be cleaned after use using an anti bacterial detergent. Do not use bleach or phenol based products.

A chair inspection should be carried out on a quarterly basis and recorded.
`
A mild lubricant can be used on all moving parts except track runner system.
Inspection checklist:
1. Top handle:
Locks in raised and lowered position.
2. Brake levers:
Locks in ‘On’ position and releases as needed.
3. Brake cables:
Secure and undamaged.
4. Brake pads:
Gives secure braking to wheels.
5. Wheels - Front:
Pivot and rotate normally.
6. Wheels - Back:
Rotate normally.
7. Track release bar: Releases and closes into secure positions.
8. Track:
Rotates manually by hand, not ‘sticking’.
9. Straps / Clips:
Straps undamaged / Clips functional.
10. Chair fabric:
Clean and undamaged.
11. Extending handles: Lockable and smooth to operate.
12. Foot rest:
Freedom of movement but with slight resistance.
